Day 3 – OMG

Archer is still extremely cautious and scared, hissing and spitting when I enter the room.

When I persist he does let me pat him although crouching and cowering away; I do wonder what this poor little man has been through, so scared of any movement it upsets me to think.

But I decide today is the day I am going to pick him up!

He certainly doesn’t seem to like me standing over him and cowers away. Any sudden noises scare him which turns him to a shivering, hissing fur baby.

I entice him with a little meat as a treat which he wolfs down, once finished, I gently reach out to him to pick him up for a cuddle.

OMG, he turned into mush!

That was it; the motor is switched on; he can’t get enough, this massive purring,  head-butting ball of fur! He melts my heart.

I sit with him for a while so getting to use to me, the odd noise and he would slide in between my arm to get behind me; I keep coaxing him out now and again.

The breakthrough I think.  Archer just needs lots of cuddles; I think I can do that!
