Day 5 of Archers Progress

Archer is still sleeping under his bed (not on it) but seems more relaxed around me, especially as I’m popping in and out all the time. I highly recommend using a bathroom as a safe house for new fur babies, not only is it easy to keep clean but it’s a room you often visit so they get familiar with you being around.

Picking Archer up is getting easier too today.  He isn’t cowling away so much on a approach.  The best thing was when I put him on the ground – he began to leg rub me! Typically when he is on the floor, he crouches away into a corner, it makes me smile he has progressed so much; he was even ok with a close friend who visited, Heather, although a little wary he soon came around and enjoyed a pat from her too.

Later that day, when my fur babies were outside enjoying the spring sunshine, so I brought Archer into the living room for cuddles. He is such a cutie. He loved sitting on my lap for hours; Little Miss was asleep on the sofa across the room, she had a little peep at Archer, but soon fell back to her unconscious state until we has a little miss hap!

I sat a lethargic Archer on the chair, seeming like he had no intentions of moving to make a cuppa. Well, that was a rookie mistake. Next minute I turned around alerted by Little Miss’s grumbles as Archer headed straight fro her but dived under the sofa. Well, have you ever tried moving a 5kg furball from a small space that doesn’t want to move! He has nestled under the sofa not intending to budge like a lump of glue! Lets say it took a while, I ended up having to move furniture around to get him out without scaring the heebie jeebies out of him!

In the evening the introductions took to the next level. Since the door ajar yesterday didn’t seem to cause too much drama, today the door was left completely open!

Archer seemed very interested in this, approaching the door almost immediately. Little Miss had other ideas. Grumbling, Little Miss heading straight for him. There was a little altercation, both giving as good as they got, until I distracted them with their toys, this helped for a few seconds at a time with Little Miss grumbling in-between, it was kinda funny.

Oscar scooted passed but didn’t stop to look at the commotion, Milly did exactly what I expected; approach Archer until they were about a meter apart, staring at one another. It was so funny to watch, Milly did not flinch and won the battle as Archer soon gave in and put his head down peeing sidewards at her to say “look I’m really cute”. Archer stayed in his room after that and carried on playing with his toys which was lovely to see, but all in all, things are progressing very well!
