Archer has been with me for 3 weeks now and I am so happy with his progress. He can be a little wary if there are any sudden sounds, noises or movement – usual if I’m rushing around the house because I’m running late from petting the cats too much!, but other than that he is fitting in so well.
I have fully integrated him completely with my three cats now. They all share the laundry / cat room and eat together. Archer can be a little cheeky as I suspect he is also finishing off the others food; their bowls seem to be very clean all of a sudden.
Archer has bonded very well with Oscar, he seems to enjoy rubbing his head with Oscar and seems to copy him a little. When Oscar sits he sits, when Oscar comes up to me he Archer also comes to me; that is until Little Miss starts pouncing on him and causing chaos. It is like having children. I seem to be constantly picking up their toys, pieces of paper, hair ties and straightening out my rugs from the constant devastation that they seem to create. But I really don’t mind I just love seeing them playing and interacting so well together.
Archer still likes to hide, under the sofa, in the wardrobe, and especially under my rugs!
But he is easily enticed out with his food.
The adoption process has started.
Firstly his profile needed to be written so Cat Haven can put him on their web page, along with some photos and videos to show potential new owners his super cute character. Cat Haven will upload them very soon, and the search for Archers furever home can commence. (I will update this post and put the URL when it Happens – so watch this space).
In case your reading this blog or know anyone looking to adopt a cat here is a sneak preview of his bio.
Archer Profile
Age: 3
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby and White
Currently in foster
Archer came to me to foster as a very scared cat. In just over a week, he has transformed into a beautiful, happy, affectionate kitty, deserving lots of love.
Archer takes a while to feel comfortable with others but when he does he just loves affection and will be a friend for life. He loves to be picked up cuddled, loves a god scratch around the ears and adores his food.
Confidence and interaction:
He is quite shy initially, but soon oozes confidence around the house and loves the interaction with me, and my other cats. He likes to have quiet time under his bed where I often find him asleep. When awake, Archer loves playing with toys, climbing on the cat tree or onto high places.
Environment:
He would suit a household with adults as I find he can be easily frightened by sharp or loud noises.
Other animals in the household:
Archer will be great with other cats. He gets along best with my ten-month-old female kitten; they love to chase each other, and testing who is the boss. But equally is compatible with my two, three-year-old cats.
Good Luck Archer!
